The General Stadium Series is again held at the Department of Chemical Engineering FT-UB. General Stadium Series #4 this time is about Process Simulator Software Training which carries the theme “HYSYS Software Implementation to Improve Chemical Process Skills and Knowledge”. This event was successfully held by the Department of Chemical Engineering FT-UB for two days on Saturday and Sunday, March 11-12 2023 which was opened by the Head of the Chemical Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Brawijaya Ir. Moh. Sholichin, M.T., Ph.D.
Aspen HYSYS is engineering software for simulating a series of processes in a factory that uses chemicals. Using HYSYS has the main advantage of being able to save time doing calculations in designing complicated and complex processes compared to when done with manual calculations. Calculations in HYSYS include mass balance calculations and energy/heat balance calculations on process equipment. Aspen HYSYS is also capable of conducting studies on optimizing a process in a chemical factory.
The resource person this time is Maharani Audina Azmi, S.T., alumni of the Department of Chemical Engineering class of 2013 who works at PT. Synergy Engineering as Junior Process Engineer. Before working at PT. Synergy Engineering, a woman who is often called “Ms. Dina”, previously worked at PT. Pustek E&T as a Junior Process Engineer and at PT. Bangun Arta Mineral as QC/R&D Officer.
Participants are students of the Department of Chemical Engineering FT-UB class of 2019, 2020 and 2021 who are interested in software engineering. It is hoped that this training event with alumni speakers who are experts in their fields will motivate students to learn more about Process Simulator Software and be able to become reliable engineers.
